In collaboration with StudioSC. Entry to the 2019 NYC affordable housing competition: a modular building method for residential multi-family structures, using a CLT construction method for a diverse range of narrow vacant lots in New York City.
All floors are set back, in accodance to the by-code-required setback of the upper floors. This strategy ensures the same generic modular layout for all apartments. Aligned with the neighboring facades a wooden open frame is built to keep the street walls intact. Bay windows provide extra living space outside of FAR in the single household micro appartements.
